The Rainbow Adventures!
Great day to be alive, isn't it? And I say that for this reason. Last night a vision of direction was placed in my head that I believe is designed by God to be my foundation for which my destiny shall be built upon. A new form of disclosure of the life I have been blessed to live just so that it could culminate to this very determination. And that vision has been to release those experiences through the creation of.....................
...............The Rainbow Adventures! Take a journey with me each day as I tell you about a man name Mark and the life he lived growing up on the Southside of Phoenix in Arizona. Though there were a lot of tribulations faced, there were some good times experienced as well........................
"Mark, Alvin is at the door for you!", my brother Michael told me. Michael was only 10 months younger than I was so we were very close. "Tell him to come in." I said. Alvin was my best friend growing up. He lived directly across the street from me. "What's up Mark?" Alvin asked. "Lil' Man and Randy want to play us today at the mini-park". "Just them 2?" I asked. "No, Chris and Paul are playing with them too", answered Alvin. Lil' Man and Randy are 2 siblings that lived over on Marquerite in ParkSouth, the community we grew up in. Paul is their cousin, and Chris was their neighbor that lived on the corner on the same street. "Where are they at?" I asked. "Over at the park" answered Alvin. "Who else is playing with us?" I asked. "Billy and Rusty!" he answered. Billy is Alvin's brother and Rusty is their cousin who lived next door to me. (To this day I still don't know why they called him Rusty.)
Back then we played basketball at the mini-park almost every day. And the greatest thing about it was all I had to do is walk directly across the street to Alvin & Billy's house, go through their backyard, and right behind it was the mini-park. How cool was that as a kid? So we headed over to the mini-park to play our little street rivalry basketball game. The four of us lived on Weir Avenue. Paul lived on 18th Street but because he was Lil' Man and Randy's cousin, he played with Marguerite if they needed a player. Even though I was a bit taller than everyone else they beat us an awful lot back then. We lost the first game, and I hate to lose. "Let's play again!" I said. Of course, we lost again.......................................................
